After moving to a new country, you need to find your way in this new situation of life. An important part of this is to organise your personal housing situation. You can find some first basic information on the topic of accommodation here.

In Austria, there are various forms of accommodation. In rural areas single-family homes and row houses are the most popular forms of accommodation. In urban areas people live mostly in freehold flats or rental apartments.

In the first section, you can inform yourself about different forms of housing.

For some people it is difficult to procure running accommodation costs. Not only the monthly rent must be paid, but also service charges and energy costs. We inform you about state subsidies and funding for rental apartments and freehold flats, in the second section.
