Advice for a doctor’s visit

  • Arrange an appointment before you visit a doctor.
  • Some doctors charge you for appointments that were not cancelled early enough (often 24 hours in advance). If you need to cancel an appointment please do so as early as possible.
  • Take your E-card with you. If you forgot your E-card, you need to know your social security number. Sometimes you also need to pay some money, which you can reclaim at a later point, when you bring your E-card afterwards.
  • Bring a photo ID, in case your identity needs to be compared with the data on your E-card.
  • Take along relevant former clinical reports, if you visit a doctor for the first time.
